Outwitting The Devil cover artwork

Outwitting The Devil

This book makes you think about how many people just drift through life and let fear, other people, and circumstances make their decisions. It is written like a conversation with the Devil, but the real point is taking control of your own mind, deciding what you want, and not letting the world do your thinking for you.

Books worth returning to

02Peak by Marc Bubbs

Why it made the list

This has to be the most valuable content I have ever consumed on the science side of training and nutrition for endurance events!

03You Can't Hurt Me

Why it made the list

Everyone thinks they are special or went through shit that is harder than what others have gone through. This book will make you reflect and realize: “You or your situation ain’t special. Nobody is coming to save you. The world is cruel. What are you gonna do about it? Keep moping, or start working and stop feeling sorry for yourself?”

0448 Laws Of Power

Why it made the list

This book will have you analyzing people you know and comparing these laws to what they do. Then it becomes clear why it seems some people can get away with stuff while you can’t. Overall, this is more of a very kind way to force people into submission, and it gives you the ability to see what others are doing to you.

05Unreasonable Hospitality

Why it made the list

It gives a new perspective on hospitality and how people remember the way you or a place made them feel, not the words said.

06Extreme Ownership

Why it made the list

Another take on owning everything: if you were the reason for the problem or mistake, that means you can fix it so it doesn’t happen next time.

07The Inner Game of Tennis

Why it made the list

Do you play any sport? If yes, LISTEN TO THIS! I promise you will not be disappointed. I wish I would’ve heard this in high school or college.

08Purple Cow Marketing

Why it made the list

All I have to say is: if you saw 10 cows in a field and one was purple, which would you look at and take a photo of…

09Never Split the Difference

Why it made the list

This book makes you realize almost every conversation has some level of negotiation in it. I like that the tactics are practical, not corporate sounding. You can use them in business, buying something, dealing with conflict, or just getting better at listening before you respond.

10The Art of Seduction

Why it made the list

Do not let the title fool you. This is not sexual in the way most people would assume. It is like The 48 Laws of Power, but focused on charisma, gaining favor, and understanding why people genuinely like and trust certain personalities.

My pair is 99% cotton and 1% elastane. They have just enough stretch and fit me well even with bigger quads and hamstrings.

My First Million cover artwork

My First Million

Business podcasts can get stuck talking about theory. I like this one because Sam and Shaan throw real ideas on the table, pull apart why they could work, and make you start noticing opportunities everywhere.

Voices in the rotation

02Joe DeFranco

Why it made the list

Joe has actual years under the bar and coaching athletes, so the advice feels tested instead of recycled. I listen when I want strength, performance, and mindset without fitness-influencer fluff.

03Real AF / MFCEO Project

Why it made the list

This is not a polished, neutral show. That is why I like it. Andy is aggressive about personal responsibility, business, and doing the work when you don’t feel like it. Take what is useful and expect zero sugarcoating.

04Money Wise

Why it made the list

Most money content stops at “save more and invest.” MoneyWise gets successful people to show the real numbers, spending habits, tradeoffs, and problems that money does not automatically fix. That honesty is the value.

05Starter Story

Why it made the list

I like seeing how normal people turned a small idea into a real business. The stories make building feel practical: find a problem, ship something, get customers, and improve it.

06The Edward ShowDaily SEO

Why it made the list

Short, daily SEO and marketing ideas from someone actively doing the work. I like that the episodes are practical enough to hear an idea and immediately try it on a real site instead of just collecting more theory.

07HubermanHonorable mention

Why it made the list

When I want a deep dive into how the brain and body work, this is usually worth the time. I like the science and practical tools, but I treat it as information to test, not a rulebook.

08Mind Pump

Why it made the list

I like Mind Pump because the hosts cut through fitness trends and explain what actually matters for building muscle, losing fat, and staying consistent. The mix of coaching experience, blunt opinions, and practical programming usually gives me something useful to take away.

The story

Health, sports, competition, setbacks, pivots, and the goals that came next.

My journey with health began long before I understood what health was. At 2 years old, my father would be at home working out. Noticing this, I eagerly ran around lifting various objects, wanting him to watch me. All through early childhood my father had a quote I will never forget ” Do you want to Roll or Run to first base”.

By the age of 13–14, I became determined to be healthy and aesthetic thanks to Zyzz. That led me to calisthenics and following the THM diet, eventually eliminating all added sugars completely! I was hooked, achieving PRs and maintaining a lean physique.

Someone dropped out of a half marathon and asked if I wanted to take their place. I took them up on it and knocked out my first half marathon with an 8:11 min/mile pace.

At 16, I started going to the gym religiously, driven to outwork everyone. I dedicated my life to researching how to get stronger, faster, and leaner.

At the start of senior year, I tested my PRs: 305 bench, 405 squat, 455 deadlift, and 265 power clean. Height: 5’11”, BW: 176. Baseball stats: 100 MPH exit velo, 88.6 MPH throw, and a 6.91 60-yard dash.

After high school, I played a half year of JUCO baseball before COVID shut it down. (JUCO = Wild West of sports. JUCO no drug-tests, the coaches nudge the players to get on steroids, We had a guy reppin 420 on Benchpress). P.S. If you’re worried about college being hard, it’s not. I had straight A’s (except for one C) no studying needed. Just common sense.

COVID hit. I lost gym access, strength, and weight. Then I heard about #5kMay2020 by Jeff Polen. You run a 5K every day in May with a “May-hem” 12x 5Ks on the final weekend. I wasn’t a runner. I did it with old Adidas gym shoes hated it, but fell in love with the mental war.

Back to the gym. New PRs: 315 bench, 435 squat, 465 deadlift, 265 power clean. BW: 174.

Got blood work done. Changed my diet: no gluten, dairy, added sugar, or processed foods and if I have a drink (rare occasion), it’s 4x distilled vodka with sugar free Redbull. Now I eat organic, single-ingredient foods and grass-fed ruminants (e.g., beef, bison, asparagus, blueberries).

Needed a new stressor, so I started training MMA at Champions MMA. Took first place in Barbell Performance’s yearly “Gains-Giving” (Nov ’23).

Got ringworm from MMA and couldn’t train, so I pivoted, trained for a 100-mile ultramarathon. Signed up, trained for 10 weeks, and finished 26 hours later, on a fractured foot and shin was well worth it for First Place!! Competed in “My First Million 100x100x100” Online Challenge. Also trained with Vivek Ramaswamy.

Hit new PRs 340lbs Bench 440lbs Squat Figured why not take a shot at some line dancing classes lol. This year’s Goal at the “Amish Country 1/2” was have fun! Played Rock Paper Scissors with spectators, when kids beside the road rang their bell, I would thank them for the energy and kick up my pace to a 6min/mile or doing a cartwheel or act like I was rowing a boat. I had a good time interacting and yapping at spectators. Still finished with a decent time of 9:11min/mile. By far the most enjoyable race I ever did!! Some friends invited me to Join them at the Columbus 1/2 this was their first half, so I went with and paced for them ended with a 2h:33min time. Next up Fuzzy 50k Ultra-Run was my first trail run and again got looped in by some friends. Completed it in 7h:34min, will say I wish I would’ve trained for it but I was more focused on gym PRs day before New Year’s Eve hit new squat pr of 405×7.

Ran the University Hospitals Cleveland Half Marathon in 2:27:27 chip time, with an 11:16 min/mile pace. I also left my laid-back job to try my hand at business with 556 Digital. After three previous attempts, I completed 75 Hard on my fourth attempt. Current goals: bench 365 lbs, squat 500 lbs, and complete two directory websites.
